Waste carrier, broker or dealer registration
Businesses that transport other people’s waste — including old IT — or arrange its disposal must be registered as a waste carrier, broker or dealer: with the Environment Agency in England, Natural Resources Wales, SEPA in Scotland or NIEA in Northern Ireland. In England, upper-tier numbers start CBDU and lower-tier CBDL; a registration with the EA, NRW or SEPA is valid in all three countries. Householders paying a private firm should check it is registered as upper tier.
