Verified means we found it on the official register or the scheme’s own list on the date shown. Company says means it is stated on the company’s website and we haven’t checked it yet. Registers can lag behind, so “not found” or “no longer current” is not an accusation. What these mean.

They say

“Says shredded material, including hard-drive components, is recycled so nothing goes to landfill”

This is the company’s own claim, as stated on its website. We haven’t checked it. How to judge “zero to landfill” claims.

About Restore Datashred

Restore Datashred is the shredding arm of Restore plc, with its head office at Optima Park on Thames Road, Crayford (Dartford postal address), and ten more regional shredding centres covering England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Most of its work is confidential paper, but it also destroys hard drives, SSDs, USB sticks, CDs, DVDs and tapes, either in shredding vehicles at the customer's premises or back at its centres, with a certificate of destruction and a waste transfer note. Under the Restore Recycle name it offers secure destruction and recycling of whole IT equipment, from laptops and phones to servers and printers.

Collections are made by BS 7858-vetted staff in GPS-tracked vehicles, as regular contracts or one-off clear-outs. Its Home Shred option lets business customers' home-based staff order boxes and book collections through the customer portal.
