Verified means we found it on the official register or the scheme’s own list on the date shown. Company says means it is stated on the company’s website and we haven’t checked it yet. Registers can lag behind, so “not found” or “no longer current” is not an accusation. What these mean.

About Community Computers

Community Computers is a not-for-profit initiative of the registered charity Renewal North West, based on Shaw Heath in Stockport. It collects redundant IT from businesses and councils, wipes or destroys data with certificates, and refurbishes devices for people, schools and community groups across Stockport, Trafford and Manchester.

About a quarter of its refurbished laptops are given away free to people in hardship, with others sold at subsidised prices through its device shop. It also manages Stockport's digital device lending scheme.

Residents can leave phones, tablets, laptops and desktops at Stockport and Manchester libraries for collection. The organisation holds ISO 9001 and Cyber Essentials, publishes its waste carrier and T11 references, and says it is working towards ADISA.
