About Surplex UK
Surplex UK was set up in 2004 in Malvern, Worcestershire, and now runs a commercial office in east London and a processing centre at Pendock, near Gloucester, where equipment is audited, wiped and recycled. It is not connected with the industrial auction site surplex.com.
It collects IT from offices, data centres and home workers across England, Wales and Scotland using its own vetted drivers and GPS-tracked vehicles. Data is erased with Certus software or hard drives are shredded, including on site, with a certificate for each device. Reusable kit is resold and the value offset against the bill; the rest is recycled with WEEE evidence notes. It also handles batteries and UPS units, data centre decommissioning and IT relocations, and gives clients an online portal for asset tracking, certificates and carbon reporting.
