About Green ITAD
An independent directory and map of the UK companies that take old IT equipment — for reuse, data destruction and recycling — built to make it easy to find a responsible one nearby and see what they’re licensed to do.
Green ITAD is an independent directory. Listings are free. We check what we can against public registers; companies’ own claims are shown as their claims.
Why it exists
Green ITAD is a free-time project by Steven Smith. He built it because there wasn’t an easy-to-use directory for people and companies to find an ITAD.
Old computers, laptops, phones and servers hold personal and business data, and they are waste electrical equipment with rules of their own. Finding a company that will collect them, destroy the data properly and recycle or reuse what’s left shouldn’t mean trawling through adverts. Green ITAD puts the facts in one place: who they are, where their sites are, what they do, whether they collect or take drop-offs, who they work with, and which licences and certifications they hold.
What’s listed
We list 504 companies with 689 sites so far: IT asset disposal (ITAD) specialists, IT and computer recyclers, data destruction companies, refurbishers that take in used IT, WEEE treatment sites, and charities and social enterprises that collect IT. We don’t list trade-in schemes, general scrap dealers or printer-cartridge-only recyclers.
How listings are checked
Every listing is built from the company’s own website and dated. We look up environmental licences on the regulators’ public registers and certifications on the scheme’s own list where one exists, and label each one clearly as verified or as the company states. Environmental claims such as “zero to landfill” are always shown as the company’s own claim. The details are on about the data.
How listings are ordered
Only by what you choose: distance from your postcode (to the company’s nearest site), name, or the number of licences and certificates we have verified. Nobody can pay to be listed, to move up, or to have something removed. If we ever offer paid extras to companies, those listings will be clearly labelled Sponsored and they still won’t change the order.
Who runs Green ITAD
Ownership: Green ITAD is owned by Steven Smith, who also works for Revolve ITAD Solutions, a company listed in this directory. Its listing is treated exactly like every other listing and is never placed above other companies.
A company owned by the people who run Green ITAD is labelled “Our own company” on its listing. Every listing is treated exactly the same.
Banner ads
Some pages also carry banner ads from 5od, a small ad service run by the owner of this site. They’re for shops and brands in the Awin affiliate network, and they’re chosen to suit the page, not you. Each one is labelled “Ad”. If you buy something after clicking one, Green ITAD may earn a commission. Ads never affect which companies are listed or how listings are ordered. For companies
Listings are free. Add your company, or use “Update this listing” on your page to correct or add details — we check changes against your website and the public registers before they go live.
