About The Edinburgh Remakery

The Edinburgh Remakery is a charity and environmental social enterprise based in the Newkirkgate Centre in Leith. It runs a social IT asset disposition service: organisations hand over surplus laptops, desktops, phones and tablets, which are data-wiped, repaired and either gifted to people in digital poverty or sold through its shop.

Businesses get secure wipe certificates, waste transfer notes and an impact report at no cost, provided devices are unlocked. Members of the public can also donate personal tech at the hub or in donation boxes around the city.

It also runs repair workshops, sells refurbished computers with warranties and offers consultancy on circular-economy practices.
