About First Mile

First Mile is a commercial waste and recycling company founded in 2004, with its head office in High Holborn and a recycling facility at Minerva Road, Park Royal. It handles more than 50 waste streams for businesses, and electrical and IT equipment is one of them.

For WEEE, customers buy pre-paid sacks or stickers and book collections online. Collected items are sorted for data wiping, refurbishment and resale, or recycling. A separate confidential data service uses tote boxes for hard drives, USB sticks, laptops, phones, servers and media; items are wiped with Blancco software and anything that cannot be wiped is shredded at its BS EN 15713 certified site, with certificates of destruction issued.

The Park Royal site is listed on the Environment Agency's AATF register. The company also offers confidential paper shredding and general commercial waste services.
