T11 exemption (repairing or refurbishing WEEE)

A registered waste exemption in England and Wales for repairing, refurbishing or dismantling waste electrical equipment so it, or its parts, can be reused — up to 1,000 tonnes in 12 months. It does not allow shredding, so a T11 alone doesn’t cover hard-drive shredding. It lasts three years and is charged. In England current T11 numbers start EXP/; Wales keeps its own T11 register. In Scotland the equivalent since November 2025 is an EASR registration, and in Northern Ireland a paragraph 49 exemption registered with NIEA.
