Verified means we found it on the official register or the scheme’s own list on the date shown. Company says means it is stated on the company’s website and we haven’t checked it yet. Registers can lag behind, so “not found” or “no longer current” is not an accusation. What these mean.
About Community TechAid
Community TechAid is a registered charity working from WeAre336 on Brixton Road in Lambeth. It accepts donated laptops (Windows 11-capable PCs and up-to-date Macs), smartphones, tablets, peripherals and chargers, wipes and refurbishes them, and passes them to people referred by partner organisations such as schools, refugee groups, food banks and shelters, along with digital skills support.
Individuals can drop devices at its centre or at drop points around south London, or post them. Businesses can donate larger batches, which it will collect within London by arrangement, and it provides an impact report for corporate donors. Data is wiped to the HMG Infosec Baseline Standard; a signed erasure certificate (EraseIt software) is available to business donors for a fee.
Devices that cannot be refurbished are stripped for parts where possible and the remainder is passed to its WEEE recycling partner, ToRecycle.
