About Bristol Waste Company

Bristol Waste Company is the waste and recycling company owned by Bristol City Council. Alongside household and commercial waste services it runs an IT asset disposal service for businesses and an IT reuse programme linked to the council's Digital Inclusion Scheme.

Its DBS-checked team collects computers, laptops, monitors, servers, drives, phones and tablets, tracks them through processing and wipes or physically destroys data, issuing certificates of destruction. It says at least a quarter of the equipment it receives is refurbished and given to schools, charities and digitally excluded people; the rest is resold or broken down for recycling. Residents can donate suitable devices at the city's household reuse and recycling centres.
