AATF (Approved Authorised Treatment Facility)

A licensed WEEE treatment site that the regulator has also approved to issue evidence notes, which producer compliance schemes use to prove recycling. Approval runs for one calendar year at a time and is listed on four public lists (EA, NRW, SEPA, NIEA), with numbers like WEE/AB1234CD/ATF. It is not the same as a permit and says nothing by itself about data security — many good ITADs aren’t AATFs and send waste on to one.
