About The Turing Trust
The Turing Trust runs an IT refurbishment workshop at Pentland Industrial Estate in Loanhead, Midlothian. Businesses and individuals donate desktops, laptops, monitors and other kit, which is data-wiped with certified software (with per-device certificates) and refurbished with educational software for schools in the UK and abroad, mainly Malawi.
Faulty drives are physically destroyed, with on-site shredding available if required, and anything that cannot be reused is recycled through authorised WEEE partners. For larger decommissioning projects it works alongside accredited commercial ITAD partners.
