About Computer Recycling Edinburgh

Computer Recycling Edinburgh has been taking in old computers since 2008 and aims to repair and upgrade rather than shred. Drives are overwritten (it quotes the DoD 5220.22-M method) before machines are tested, repaired and upgraded for reuse; drives that fail erasure, and broken parts, are shredded through a disposal partner, and all recycling is done in the UK.

Businesses with several items can book a collection in the Edinburgh area. Members of the public can drop off laptops, tablets and phones at its South Charlotte Street point by appointment, but larger items such as desktop towers and monitors are no longer accepted from the public.
