About Comm-Tech
Comm-Tech (The Community Technology Project) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee based in Streatham, south London. It began in the 1990s refurbishing discarded computers for people and groups in need, and today its main work is IT support, consultancy, hosting and Cyber Essentials help for charities and other not-for-profits.
It still lists computer recycling and data destruction as a service for London organisations: it will collect redundant equipment, issue WEEE paperwork, and ensure data on drives and other media is destroyed, with certification to CESG or US DoD standards if required. There is a small charge, quoted from a list of the equipment.
By its own account it closed its in-house recycling operation in 2016 and now subcontracts recycling to a local sister organisation.
