Verified means we found it on the official register or the scheme’s own list on the date shown. Company says means it is stated on the company’s website and we haven’t checked it yet. Registers can lag behind, so “not found” or “no longer current” is not an accusation. What these mean.
About The iT Centre (Castle Douglas)
The iT Centre is a charity based at Castle Douglas Community Centre that tackles digital exclusion across Dumfries and Galloway. Alongside digital skills training, it runs a refurbishment project that accepts unwanted technology from local people and businesses, upgrades it and gives the refurbished laptops, computers and phones to people in need through partner agencies.
For businesses replacing equipment, it offers an IT asset refurbishment service: after an initial assessment, drives are wiped with Redkey V5 software, with certified wipe reports, or physically destroyed with photographic evidence. Suitable devices are then repaired, reloaded and tested before redistribution.
It is a small charity (company limited by guarantee) rather than a commercial disposal firm.
