About DAISI Digital Device Bank (GRCC)

Gloucestershire Rural Community Council (GRCC) runs the DAISI Digital Device Bank as part of its digital equity work. It collects used laptops, desktops, smartphones, basic phones, tablets, monitors, chargers, keyboards, printers and other devices at drop-off points across the county, many of them at its free DAISI digital support drop-ins.

The devices are securely wiped, tested and refurbished, then given to people who cannot afford one - for example people on benefits, using food banks, fleeing domestic abuse or looking for work - and, through GRCC's ACORN project, to small Gloucestershire charities and community groups. Both individual donations and larger quantities of IT from organisations are accepted. The project is run in partnership with the Cheltenham-based ITSA Digital Trust.
