About Bridge The Gap

Bridge the Gap Ending Digital Poverty CIC works with Hackney residents who lack devices, connectivity or digital skills, including people on low incomes, neurodivergent people and older residents. It runs regular drop-in sessions at community centres in Hackney.

It accepts donated computers, phones and tablets through a donation form. Devices are reset or reinstalled and Windows drives have their free space wiped with the Windows cipher tool before refurbishment. Refurbished laptops are sold on a three-tier price scale, with lower prices for people on benefits or in education, and the income funds free workshops.

This is a small community reuse project rather than a certified data-destruction service.
