About Mer-IT Digital
Mer-IT Digital CIC has run repair-based training since 2012, teaching hardware and software skills while extending the life of laptops. It takes laptops from individuals and corporate donors, refurbishes them and places a share with families who lack devices.
For corporate donations it focuses on laptops made in 2021 or later. Every device is wiped to NIST SP 800-88 and tracked, with per-device erasure certificates available at extra cost. Donors can give for free, in which case some devices are sold to cover costs, or pay £105 or £150 per laptop so that more devices go to families.
It describes itself as a community refurbisher rather than a certified ITAD provider.
